Not all older iBook G4 student laptops work with Google Docs. To be compatible they must have Safari 3 or newer installed. The newest versions of Firefox, Safari, and Google Chrome are only compatible with intel processor based Macs and not the iBook G4.
If Safari 2 or older is installed on the iBook, run “Software Update” which is found under the Apple logo at the top left corner of the screen. Software updates may be needed before you can install Safari 3 or 4. Just keep updating the software until it shows up.
