FEES 2009 – 2010

September 1, 2009

As you are no doubt aware, this school year will be tough financially for all Minnesota schools. Charter schools like our own are at even greater risk because our budgets are small and we value a low staff to student ratio to provide the best education and support possible for our recovering students and families. This year we are asking parents to help with the cost of field trip transportation and basic supplies.

Each campus participates in six field trips per school year. These include the Fall Ball (a gathering of all metro area recovery school students and staff); the annual all-campus talent show; winter tubing and fun day; Recovery In The Park spring field day, the spring play and poetry performance. The cost per student for each of the six field trips is $25 for a total of $150. (These are district wide field trips. Individual campuses may schedule additional activities for an additional fee.)

Each fieldtrip fee is payable to the Campus Director before or at the time of the field trip (dates to be announced).

We are also asking families to pay a one-time $25.00 fee to cover the costs of consumable supplies such as paper, pencils, workbooks, CDs, etc.

Seniors who are participating in the graduation ceremony in June of 2010 will be assigned a fee of $50.00 to cover ceremony expenses. This fee covers the cap, gown, diploma, tassel, programs and awards, facility rental and music. Students will be able to keep their caps, gowns and tassels.

Families who are able are encouraged to donate scholarship money for those families who cannot afford the fees. Sobriety High School is willing to work with any family who is unable to pay a portion or all of the required fees. Requests for reduced fees or scholarships should be directed to the Campus Director.

Out of state Tuition: Sobriety High School accepts out of state students. Students who reside outside of Minnesota but attend Sobriety High School are assigned a tuition of $7000.00 per school year, payable at the time of enrollment and prorated for students enrolling after the beginning of the school year.
